Joint Pain and Sugar

Many people wonder if what you eat affects your joints. And the answer is ABSOLUTELY.

Do you notice after you eat a particular food, cookies, chocolate, wine…you wake up achy and stiff the next day?

All of these items have one thing in common that can cause joint inflammation – SUGAR.

Sugar cravings can really rear their ugly head when we reach a certain age. Hormone fluctuations, weight gain, cravings, and low energy all can happen at this time. And science has consistently proven that sugar can be as addictive as a drug. As a former seriously sugar-addicted person, I know how difficult breaking the sugar habit can be. But I also know how drastically it can improve your health and energy.

We all know how we should eat, but those crazy cravings can get you every time. This is where education and learning how to change your habits can lead to a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Changing your habits to kick the sugar cravings will help keep any sugar-related inflammation to a minimum and restore your energy and vitality to keep your body happy and healthy – without the sugar!

Will you fall off the wagon now and then? Probably, but you can still make lasting, sustainable change for your health because YOU ARE WORTH IT. I still indulge in wine or chocolate and wake up the next morning feeling achy and stiff. Sometimes it’s worth it (like being able to toast my daughter’s engagement with her or toast my newest granddaughter’s arrival) and sometimes I have that a-ha! Moment all over again when you think “that was NOT worth it!”

We are all worth it! Kicking sugar works wonders for your health and is entirely worth the effort to change your habits.

As always, if you’re interested in doing a deeper dive into your habits or path to wellness, I would love to work with you!
